RN: "Dad and Mother rented a home in Kamas, just west of the King Store. Keith was born in that house while Dad was in California working. Jobs were scarce and so he had gone to Grass Valley, California to find work in one of the gold mines. It was a very difficult time for mother. Being pregnant with Keith and having five other little terrors to take care of."
